One of the projects (or works in progress) for me is a “Book of Me” sharing photos, experiences, and occasional tidbits that describe me. The February kit at Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild combines pinks and greens, an all-time favorite for me, with delightful elements. This is a layout I created using that kit.
This is the February 2012 Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild kit (linked).

Well, we missed the mountains of snow — I headed south to join DH just in time! It took my brother a couple of hours to get home from work and my daughter had to drive 80 miles through drifts and blowing snow. I went shopping; there’s no snow where I am in Florida.
Just in time for your Valentine layouts is this kit from the Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild called Love Birds! There is even a free sample! The papers and elements are delightful.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a legal holiday in the United States commemorating those who have died in our nation’s service. Although originally celebrated on May 30th, it is now celebrated on the last Monday of May (passed by Congress with the National Holiday Act of 1971 to ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays). Some feel that changing the date merely to create three-day weekends has undermined the very meaning of the day, as many view Memorial Day as the unofficial beginning of summer.
The May 2010 Mega Kit – Americana Memories, found at Digital Scrapbooking Studio, would be perfect for your tribute pages (a special soldier or memory). Done in Americana style, the kit is perfect for genealogy & heritage pages as well. In honor of Memorial Day they also have a “special 10 for $10” for your heritage, vintage, memory layouts.
DH will be fishing today (Saturday) and DD will be boating with her family — I think I’ll spend the morning sorting though digital photos and kits to begin some new scrapbook layouts. Digital Scrapbooking is a delightful way to spend my time — I love revisiting memories. Have a nice weekend and shed some thought to the fallen heroes who have sacrificed for our freedoms.
Youngest son has finished his first year of college and can move out of the dorms now. He’s one very happy young man. He’ll be renting a house with 3 other guys for the next year, the lease starts June 1st. Three of them are football players (Joe is also on the team) so fingers crossed they remember to study once in a while. It’s very hard to believe that time has flown by so quickly. I know that almost sounds like a cliche, but it’s the truth 🙂 You turn your head and your little ones are all grown up.
I think that’s why I choose this layout. Aside from the fact that I love how Maman de lena blended and arranged, it also reminded me of those childhood days.
For the Product of the Day I choose a kit that would work well with little guy photos. The colors are bright and boyish and you can buy this great kit at DigitalScrapn.
Race Me Kit by Demiurgia Designs
Have a great week,
Are you enjoying this blog? Be sure to check the archives and tags for previous posts! Did you see the awesome kit by January’s featured designer? One lucky poster will win a copy of Kari’s City Girly Girl kit. Read more here.
My daughter’s daughter loves pink! She’ll love pages created with Kari’s kit (she’s in preschool and in a dance/gymnastics class). My goal is to complete at least one book a year for my granddaughter containing special events and every day events — each delightful adventure, from Nana’s perspective.
One of the bestest parts of digital scrapbooking is that you can print as many copies of your pages as you want! You don’t have to go out and purchase more scrapbooking papers, buttons & bows — you can reuse your kit again and again. Kari’s kit can be used directly in the Taleweaver software, or in your own software to create scrapbook pages, cards, calendars or other fun projects.
I’ve featured one of my own pages again today; I just love sharing the possibilities with the kits offered. And I love sharing copies of my printed pages with others– you’ll love the quality of the prints you order from MyPicTales! The fonts used in my layout are JaneAusten and Papyrus for the title and Calibri for the journaling. I used a page map (October 2005) to help with the design of my page.
Happy Scrapping to you!
