How my iPhone saved Christmas

I never thought that this would happen to me. Put the batteries in to charge the night before and be ready to go with my trusty Canon camera. (I think the camera is my third child and somedays I love it just as much as my “human” ones).  Nothing should go wrong, right? WRONG! I put the batteries in and the camera decides to go nuts and not recognize the charge. AAACCK! I helplessly tried to change to other batteries with similar results. I was on the verge of a major freak out. I couldn’t tell the kids to slow down or not open presents and then my DH suggests – just use your phone! BINGO!  Morning saved.  I took pictures with my iphone and calmed down dramatically. Yes, they aren’t as great as my camera, but they are pretty darn good and I was so happy to have the memories captured.  So the moral of the story is don’t forget about the cameras on your phones! Most of them are pretty good these days and sometimes that little phone can save the day!

On to other topics.  I haven’t been scrapping much during the holidays. My son was fairly sick and we didn’t get to sleep through the night for about a week. So imagine a 7 year old not sleeping and on steroids and parents not sleeping as well. No one was happy and I just tried to get through the days.

I must confess that I am a template-aholic.  Love them. They are great starting off points and great ways to get a layout started and finished – fast.  One of my favorite designers is Scrapping with Liz at  I just love her stuff and this layout made with a year in review template caught my eye in the Scrap Orchard gallery.

I loved the layout because of the colors of the papers.  I also liked how the person used black and white photos in the layout.  This template pack is also fantastic.  It templates that can hold a few pictures or many pictures depending on your needs.

I hope that everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays

To those celebrating Christmas, I hope Santa brought exactly what you had wished for.  The season has always been a time to reflect on those who serve us, whether it be a paper boy (or girl), a postal worker, those who maintain our streets and highways, and those who are serving in the Armed Forces.  Online access helps to keep us informed, be it family news or world news.

Christmas with my daughter’s family was a wonderful experience for me, as I’m usually in Florida during the Winter (my husband hates the cold).  We ate, played cards, ate, exchanged gifts, ate … oh my!  My husband spent the holiday with his son’s family in Florida.

I created this layout as my holiday greeting; I like the quote (an Irish Blessing)!  May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door.  Kit is Chill Baby designed by Denise Bailey; font is Greeting Monotone.

As Ever,

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas – Ok. I might be a little bit early, but I want to wish everyone a happy holiday.  I apologize for no post last week; computer issues are never fun.  This week involved someone hitting my husband’s car as it was parked outside of our house and my son getting mis-diagnosed at the doctor’s office and having to go back  a second time. Nice. What a week – I haven’t done much thinking about scrapping and should get back to normal next week. I hope everyone’s holiday is blessed and that Santa brings you everything on your wishlist 🙂
