Templates – I ? U

I seriously went through the galleries today, to find layouts that had nifty boxes, shapes and other fun things, and they were all made with the starting block of a template!! I am gonna sit my body down tonight and play catch up and use some templates I have, and okay, perhaps I might need to pick up some new ones, just for motivation?

Take a look at this page!!! I love EVERYTHING!!  I am inspired to create and use a template to get some pages done!!

Practice First by penguinmomma-and goodness how can you not love it, with that big ol’ smile beaming out at you?

This is just the perfect beginning for a whole book of her son’s improvement and journey through soccer!

Plan, Create, Share!

Life has its trials and its joys.  I’m pre-publishing this week because I’ll be traveling with my youngest brother to visit the middle brother.  I hope to have many new photos to create layouts with for my albums.

I like photobooks when I have an event or timeframe to feature — and they make fantastic gifts!  I like individual prints when I create layouts in no particular order because I can place them in my albums and rearrange as needed.  But there are times I’d love to share layouts that I’ve done — and the product I’m featuring can help me to do just that!

This action is for Photoshop, and will create calendar pages using your existing layouts, or photos, and any kit in your stash!  She has actions for other sizes as well.  Yes! A Calendar will be a perfect gift for friends and family.

No Photoshop?  Not to worry — download Taleweaver (FREE) at MyPicTales and use it to make your photo books, calendars and cards.  The software allows you full control of your projects.  I WILL take many photos this weekend, and I WILL come home and scrap about our gathering, and I WILL be making calendars for holiday gifts this year.  It’s NOT too early to start planning.

As Ever,

Thinking Ahead

I was trying to figure out what to write about this week and I started to think about Holiday presents when I was zooming around the galleries.  It’s hard to imagine that soon the holiday season will be upon us and now is the time to start thinking about gifts. Especially if you want to send a few chosen ones off to www.mypictales.com for printing! MyPicTales has an awesome selections of books and calendars.  Their single print option is great if you want to have layouts printed and then make/put them into a book yourself.

Lately I have found my self drawn to products designed by Scrapping with Liz located over at Scrap Orchard.  I recently picked up this one:

They are Practice to Print cards.  They are predesigned 4 x 6 cards that you put a picture that begins with that letter.  Slip it into a 4 x 6 album, give your little writer a dry erase marker and let them go to town.  I figured that this would be perfect for my daughter in kindergarten who is learning to print and as a birthday present for my niece and nephew as well.  I think that this would be something easy to slip into a purse to help fill time when waiting for appointments, etc.

Also, while cruising I noticed several calendars in the galleries. Now is the time to get your calendars together so www.mypictales.com can print them for you.

This sneak peak into 2011 is done by Ramona the Pest using Liz’s Basic 2011 Calendar Temp and Grids  and a kit by Tracey Howard.  Somebody is going to be the lucky recipient of this calendar this year.

I hope that I have gotten those creative juices flowing, so until next Friday What Stories are You Going to Tell?

Fall? or Spring?

No matter where you live, it is a new season, well, at least on the calendar!!  I love Fall for the colors!! I can just stare at crispy orange  and brown leaf piles, along with scarecrows and all the pumpkins that are popping out around digi land!

Enjoy your first day of Fall!!

My daughter invited me to a nearby town for garage sales this week. My finds? I bought a cookie cookbook for 50¢, a Disney photo album for $1, and a quilt top for $1. Then we went to a department store and found gifts for a newborn.

What inspires you? The quilt top is quite colorful and may inspire pages about our garage sale adventures as well as a page about the quilt top. I’ve created scrapbook layouts of my daughter making cookies with her children (to preserve those special memories). Sometimes I take photographs of scenery to include on pages that describe a trip we’ve taken.

A newborn in the family will surely inspire pages and eventually a photobook. I enjoy browsing the pages I’ve created over the years, and am delighted to have found a special way to share the memories. Lives are so full of activity these days that capturing and recording special events is important.

While browsing scrapbook pages and elements this week I found this kit at Funky Playground Designs that includes some awesome elements. Kits can be inspirational, too, as the designs and elements suggest ways to put your pages “together.”

Check this page at MyPicTales for help and formulas when creating your scrapbook pages (to keep your important photos, text, journaling or other graphics within the safe area for printing).
